About Sarah Miro Fischer

Sarah Miro Fischer is a writer and director based in Berlin. She began studying film at the Escuela Nacional de Cine in Bogotá, Colombia, and graduated from the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB) in 2024.
Her short film Spit (2021) premiered in Leuven, screened in competition at the Max Ophüls Preis and received a special mention in New York. Her debut feature The Good Sister (Schwesterherz) won the WIP Europa Award and the WIP Europa Industry Award in San Sebastián, premiered in the Berlinale Panorama 2025 and went on to win the FIPRESCI Prize at OFF Camera and the First Steps Award for Best Feature Film. It was released in German and French cinemas in 2026.
She is developing her second feature, Love & Rebellion, with Una Film, and is a member of the German Film Academy.
